Superpower: The Ultimate Elephant
A deep dive into one of the most innovative healthcare startups operating today.

Superpower’s aspirational (& beautiful) brand is a big part of their story. They’ve rocked with the bright orange color since the beginning!
I met Jacob Peters at a house party in Los Angeles. While others mingled over drinks and gave half-baked pitches about their latest project, we huddled in a corner geeking out on neuroscience, positive psychology, and biohacking.
I’ll never forget that first conversation.
Jacob had just faced a near-death experience while building his second company.
Diagnosed with Crohn's disease and battling organ failure, he spent millions(!) navigating our fragmented healthcare system.
The experience transformed him. It was both inspiring and heartbreaking to hear about the many experiments he was trying in order to heal himself.
A little less than a year after that first conversation, Jacob texted me and asked if I wanted to get lunch. "I'm building something new," he told me. "A healthcare model that sits between concierge medicine and primary care. We'll make health data accessible and actionable for everyone. We’re targeting founders and executives (to start) who often neglect their health to build something great."
The vision was clear, brilliant, and deeply personal.
I knew immediately—when my fund launched, Jacob’s Stealth Startup (now known as Superpower) would be among the first checks I wrote.
In previous essays, I've outlined the three core attributes of our elephant framework: companies turning customers into members, leading with purpose, and building in public. Superpower exemplifies this model so perfectly that examining their approach offers a masterclass in building the next generation of truly great companies.
🤝 Building Authentic Community
The first trait of an elephant company is turning customers into members. Superpower mastered this before they even had a product.
While most health tech companies acquire users through clinical partnerships or insurance relationships, Superpower built community first. Their approach:
IRL Before URL: They hosted massive (300+ people) wellness events for founders, operators, & VCs where they had vitamin shots, ice baths, and full-panel blood draws done by licensed nurses—creating experiences that felt nothing like typical tech gatherings.
Vulnerability as Currency: Traditional tech events often look more like casual happy hours, pitch competitions, or intimate dinners. The goal is usually transactional… to find VCs, find founders, or be seen among the right crowds. Superpower takes a very different approach. Before even launching, they created spaces for authentic conversations about the struggles of prioritizing physical and mental health as a tech leader. Real connections formed at these events because vulnerability and authenticity were at the heart of the gatherings.
Member-to-Member Connection: The Superpower team wants like-minded health junkies to find each other in the wild, which is why they launched their “100% healthiest” hoodie. Superpower members can find each other in their recognizable swag, strengthening their connection to not just the company but to each other too.

This community-first approach created powerful organic growth. Their waitlist exploded through genuine word-of-mouth, and their Series A announcement generated millions of impressions because their audience felt personally invested in the company's success.
🧬 Purpose Beyond Profit
The second element of our elephant framework is leading with purpose. Superpower centers their mission on fixing healthcare's stark divide: concierge medicine for the wealthy, fragmented primary care for everyone else.
Their purpose manifests through:
Rallying for Reform: The Superpower team frames their work as a movement to transform healthcare, not another app or platform. This is why TWO of their earliest teammates recently got tattoos (yes, permanent!) of their logo. Being part of the team is more than just a job.
Democratizing Expert Knowledge: Biohacking and longevity communities have historically functioned as exclusive clubs. Superpower makes cutting-edge health insights accessible to everyone. From the beginning, education and media have been key pieces of their business and brand.
Home for Health Enthusiasts: With Superpower, folks who track their sleep, nutrition, and biomarkers in spreadsheets finally have a space where their approach to health becomes normal—even celebrated. Being a Superpower member means finding your tribe. The company’s clear and well-communicated purpose attracts not only passionate customers, but also exceptional talent and advisors who share that same mission. Locking in the very best talent creates a flywheel of energy that makes a company like Superpower nearly unstoppable.
📣 Building in Public
The third critical trait in our elephant framework is building in public, and Superpower excels here, too.
Jacob builds Superpower in daylight—sharing everything from how his restaurant-dining experiences are aligned with his health philosophy to major company milestones like the recent Series A announcement. His co-founder Max does something very similar. But their approach extends beyond just the co-founders:
Team as Distribution: Employees—many former founders themselves—openly share online what they’re working on at Superpower and use their unique distribution channels to help the company grow. These authentic stories expand the company’s reach through individual networks, creating a multiplier effect.
Design as Storytelling: Their beautiful brand design (shoutout Hannah!) transforms abstract health concepts into something tangible. Where healthcare typically feels clinical and sterile, Superpower feels alive.
Launch Excellence: When you’ve been building community consistently, any announcement you make will be that much bigger and better. Media companies are excited to share the exclusive (ex. Fortune), you can join the hottest new tech shows (TBPN, Sourcery, etc), and your community will feel like they were part of something before everyone else.
While this is just the beginning for Superpower and their team, I hope this deep dive gives other companies some ideas on how they can go down the elephant path. If executed the right way, you can build something truly generational.
At Park Rangers Capital, Superpower represents our thesis in action, and we’re grateful to be a small part of their journey. We'll continue investing in founders building elephant companies across sectors—those who understand that long-term value comes from building software differently. If that’s you, please reach out at [email protected]. And of course, if you’d like to bypass the massive Superpower waitlist and try this incredible product for yourself, you can sign up here.
